Andersson Technologies has released SynthEyes 2007, the latest version of its 3D tracking software, adding new file readers for ARRIRAW and Blackmagic RAW footage.
The update also improves conversion to half-precision floating point format throughout the software, especially for ARRI or OpenEXR files, and adds support for LIDAR point clouds in PTS as well as XYZ format.
New machine-learning-based features now run on the CPU by default
In addition, by default, the software now uses the CPU-only version of the Tensorflow library required for the new machine learning-based features added in SynthEyes 2004 earlier this year.
The change is intended to reduce the size of the SynthEyes installer, but users with Nvidia GPUs can download optional overlays enabling them to use the GPU version of the library.
The new neural networks are intended to automatically identify tracking features in source footage, plus X tracking marks in greenscreen footage and crossing points in lens grids.
Pricing and availability
SynthEyes 2007 is available for Windows 7+, RHEL/CentOS 7 Linux, and Mac OS X 10.9+.
New licences cost from $299 to $699, depending on whether you buy the Intro or Pro edition of the software, and for which platforms.
